Tsoro, yüzlerce yıldır oynanan eski bir masa oyununa dayanmaktadır. Oyun, 2 sıraya eşit olarak dağıtılmış 10 deliğin bulunduğu ahşap bir tahta üzerinde oynanır. Oyun başlamadan önce oyuncu bankası görevi görecek bir delik seçer. Her turda oyuncu rezervuardan yedi renkli top alır ve bunları ardışık deliklere/hücrelere bırakır. Her düşüş oyuncuya puan kazandırır ve en fazla puan bankadaki düşüşlerden kazanılır. Bu nedenle amaç, bankaya mümkün olduğu kadar çok top bırakmaktır. Bu tsoroyu emsallerinden ayıran şey yıldız toplarıdır. Aynı hücredeki bir çift farklı renkli top için oyuncu kırmızı bir yıldız alır. Aynı şekilde aynı hücrede/delikte aynı renkteki dört top, oyuncuya yıldız topu kazandırır.
